Missions is the “Heart Beat” of Sharptown Church. Sharptown supports foreign missionaries in Africa, Nepal, Guatemala, Hungary, Asia, Paraguay, Uganda, Argentina and Asia with financial support as well as prayer. We have sent short term teams to China to teach, and to Argentina, Guatemala and Haiti to build. Our youth have spent weeks in the summer working in Mexico, Kentucky, Ecuador and Ireland helping to build the lives of other by sharing the Gospel of Christ. Sharptown also supports stateside ministries on college campuses through CRU and when hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast area, within in weeks we started the process of mobilizing teams to help clean out and gut homes. We also strive to impact the lives of local people in our community by assisting with food and Christmas gifts, providing Bible studies in the local jail, supporting Cornerstone Pregnancy Resource Center, assisting Young Life in county high schools, offering a monthly meal for Senior Citizens and hosting an addiction recovery group for men.
Throughout the calendar year, the congregation is encouraged to engage and get involved in a monthly mission initiative that helps ignite a fuel and passion for missions.

Regularly, a member of the church will speak in Sunday Worship about a dramatic experience they had while participating in short-term missions. Sometimes the speaker has a humorous story or two to share about their experience, but without exception, every person who has been on a trip will tell you that it changed their life forever. You can see lives changed and impacted for Christ both for those we serve and among those who serve. If your heart beats for the world and those currently not yet reached for Jesus, please reach out to Pastor Kristen or any member of the mission team about getting involved!
It is our prayer that God will use us to be His witnesses in …
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 (NIV)
