FAQ

Sharptown North is a second campus of Sharptown Church (a vibrant congregation in Pilesgrove Township) meeting in the Woolwich Municipal Building.  After years of being involved in the Woolwich/Logan/Swedesboro Community through Triple Force Soccer Camps, the Community Tree Lighting, Fun Days, Martin Luther King Celebrations and community service; Sharptown North hosted its first worship service on December 23, 2010, in a huge, heated tent on the Locke Ave Soccer fields.  Over 400 were in attendance, drinking hot chocolate and worshipping with the praise band. Preview services were held on January 9th, February 13th and March 13th.  Sharptown North launched regular weekly Sunday morning worship services on March 27th at 10 am!

Since then, Sharptown North has been rapidly gaining momentum with new faces joining us for worship each week.  Casual Sunday morning worship takes place each week from 10 to 11:15 am in the Woolwich Municipal Building drawing approximately 100 in attendance.  Sharptown North has excellent programs for children, a nursery staffed with dedicated volunteers, engaging music, relevant messages, friendly faces, small Bible groups and more.  We welcome guests and are always excited to minister to new individuals and familes!

The doors of our church are open to you. Regardless of your race, background or history, this is a place where you are welcome. We are a church that grows together in love, grace and unity; that reaches out to share the transforming love of Jesus Christ with others so that together we will seek to know and live God’s amazing plan.

– What should I expect at Sunday service?

Our services are contemporary with biblically-based relevant teaching for the days we live in. Our worship ministry consists of our Praise and Worship team using contemporary Christian music to assist the congregation into praise and thanksgiving. Pursuing God together and growing in the knowledge of Him is our goal.

– How should I dress?

While some folks prefer to wear their “Sunday best,” many wear casual and comfortable clothing on Sunday morning. Let modesty be your guide.

– What about my children?

Sharptown has excellent children’s ministries. Our nursery class cares for children from six weeks to four years old. Our children’s ministry during the Sunday worship service is called Graceland and ministers to children age 3 through grade 6.

Additional children’s programming is offered at the Sharptown Campus throughout the week.  On Wednesday evenings, GodSquad, a super cool, kids Bible Club, for kids age 3 through grade 4, is offered in 5 week blocks during the school year.  SPIN 180, a 5th and 6th grade youth group, is offered year round from 6 to 8 pm on Sundays. With well over 100 in attendance, new kids are always welcome!

– Do I need to bring anything?

If you have a Bible, bring it with you to church. Then, you will be able to follow along with the sermon.

– How can I become acquainted with church life at Sharptown?

There are many ways that you can become involved:

  • Fill out the visitor section of the bulletin so we know your name and address.  We will be in touch with you.
  • Stay around after service for some coffee and meet our staff and ministry team and find out about the different opportunities we have here that you can participate in.
  • Make an appointment with one of our ministry staff and introduce yourself.
  • Come back next week.  We trust you will feel at home, and we hope that the time you spend here will encourage and equip you to pursue God and His will for your life.

Our mission statement is summed up by faithfully proclaiming the WORD:

Worship – “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul and your strength.” (Matthew 22:36-40)
Outreach – “Go and make disciples.” (Matthew 28:18-20)
Relationships – “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:38)
Discipleship – “Let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity.” (Hebrews 6:1)
